Mandy J | Toronto, ON
Mandy is a Toronto based artist whose work encompasses several different media, showcasing a love of nature, history, and the beauty of the human form. With a MA from the University of Toronto, Mandy's work is deeply entrenched in an appreciation of everything that's come before.
Drawing inspiration from the ancient frescos and mosaics of Akrotiri, to the soft palettes and intricate linework of Mucha, Mandy's work is a cross section of the past overlayed in the modern applications of digital illustration and pixel art, with a foundation of skills built from a background in acrylic painting and portraiture.
In her free time Mandy is currently working on a self published retro styled point-and-click adventure game, in the style of classic Sierra and LucasARTS games. The game will focus on late Bronze Age civilizations, combined with intricate puzzles, and detailed pixel art.
Open to commissions and collaborative work, Mandy is excited to continue to grow as an artist through new projects.
